BANGKOK: -- Thailand's National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT) and Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) are co-producing a TV program called 'ABU Digista Teens 2014', to be broadcast in both countries.

ABU Digista teens is a project which will allow young people to acquire fluency with the new media of the digital era by enjoying video creation.

After meeting with the officials and staff from NHK and the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), NBT director Chamlong Singto-ngam disclosed that the television program is an international efforts to provide a channel for the ABU member countries’ teens with talents in computer animation and digital arts to showcase their works and experience the real-world of television program production.

Thailand has been selected to host this year’s event, which is scheduled from December 12-15

The ABU Digista teens Project in 2014 will be held in the following four stages.

First Stage: Movie production workshops” in participating countries.(June to September)
Teens interested in art will gather to learn about and experience making digital artwork. Challengers to participate in the final event, the International Image Festival, will be selected.

Second Stage: Selected challengers from various countries will create digital artwork.
Following advice from professional creators, the challengers will create digital artwork with the theme of “Future”. Their creation process will be filmed as short documentaries.

Third Stage: The final event, “The International Image Festival” will be held on 14th December at Bangkok.
This is an intercommunication programme connecting countries who have participated in the project with video, audio, and the Internet.
Challengers from various countries will join the event to show their completed work and their documentaries which describe their creative processes.

The event will be hosted by NBT, Thailand.

Final Stage: TV broadcasting in each country.

ABU Digista teens was founded to support Asian youngsters to learn about themselves and the areas they live in through the digital art creating experience, and know the joy and difficulty of expressing themselves and delivering a finalized product.
