The 7,000 new places allotted is really replacing the numbers earlier slashed from the intake by Abbott govt. Annual intake number will gradually be increased over a four year period to 7,000 & decision could always be reversed. Accepted applicants would be managed via UNHCR priorities, but not for those subjected to the PNG Solution. 1 Link to comment
