Man injured by Amsterdam pop-up toilet

A man in the Dutch city of Amsterdam has been injured after a pop-up public toilet sunk into the ground emerged unexpectedly.

The man was hit by a moped which was thrown up in the air as the so-called UriLift toilet suddenly rose up.

He is being treated in hospital for minor injuries.

Shit happened - literally cheesy.gif

Took me a while to realise injury was caused outside toilet... visions of guy on crapper getting hurt through toilet whiplash or summat. :o

Can you imagine spending a few hours in a coffee shop and then getting injured by a toilet popping up in the middle of the street? Only in Amsterdam. You got love it!

I love the Dutch sense of humour -- they'll not know whether to laugh or be indignant about this one !!

.....and who says "..only in Thailand" ? w00t.gif

What a shitty experience, a really crappy day IMO.

Would seem that he wasn't actually injured by the toilet but by a motorbike that was for some strange reason in a position where it could be flung aside when the toilet erupted.

What if the opposite happens and you're taking a leak when the toilet suddenly plummets below the ground.? Cringe.

I think if that happened, I would also crap.

I'd hate to get caught in the toilet when it descended and had to wait their all day until it re-emerged at night.

I was in one of these dastardly self cleaning toilet contraptions when it kicked into gear and cycled through the cleaning cycle. Twice!

Not a pop up though!

Nice story.

I get a nice kick when something, other than the same old crap, pops up...unexpectedly!

That would make a downright shitty day. :P

It sounds like it was trying hard to clean the crap out of itself......but you just wouldn't leave. 555555
