Thai PM to visit Cambodia for strengthening cooperation

Thailand Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra will lead a high delegation to pay an official visit to Cambodia on Thursday, at the invitation of Prime Minister Hun Sen, a statement of Cambodian Foreign Ministry said on Monday. During the visit, Thaksin will be received in Royal Audience by Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni and will have a restricted meeting with his Cambodian counterpart.

Thaksin's visit aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, and will provide an opportunity to discuss Thailand's promise to build bridges in Koh Kong province as well as its plans for an industrial zone in the border province, according to government spokesman and Information Minister Khieu Kanharith.

Both sides will sign a Loan Agreement on National Road No. 67 Construction Project, the statement said.

More business opportunities for the Main man and his gang. Building bridges, burning bridges?

Time to help the poor Khmers

These lyrics from an old song from the movie "Kelly's Heroes" sound like they were written for Thaksin.

"

"Friends all tried to warn me

But I held my head up high

All the time they warned me

But I only passed them by

They all tried to tell me

But I guess I didn't care

I turned my back and

Left them standing there

All the burning bridges that have fallen after me

All the lonely feelings and the burning memories

Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door

Burning bridges lost forevermore"

Burning Bridges
