USB usage in car

Featured Replies

Got an old car and in trunk found small fan for computer use. Fan has USB connector since made to work off computer power.

Are there any hook-up devices available which will connect the car power to the fan?.

And any info on where to dip into car power helpful. Car has cig lighter slot but no other obvious power outlet.

Just get yourself one of these - plugs into the lighter socket, and gives the proper 5vdc USB out. Can also be used to charge your phone:

These can normally be found at 7-11, BigC or Lotus

The car is old, so probably not applicable, but in quite a few modern cars there is a USB hookup in the glove box.

It's the classification of phone that smart people have. Down from those, you have feature phones, which is the type of phone featured people have. :P

Iphone, Azus, Samsung, all touch pads etc. etc. They all have the same USB cord for charging, the phone side plugs are standard now too. Therefore you can just plug in a standard USB cable to your car charger adapter for your ciggie lighter and wah la you have a USB connection.
