Russia' Chamber of Commerce and Industry to serve as trade coordinators for Thai entrepreneurs

BANGKOK, 5 Dec 2014 (NNT) - The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation has offered to facilitate business activities of Thai entrepreneurs wishing to do business in Russia in a move to forge trade ties between the two nations.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, Russia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry will act as the coordinator between Thai operators and Russian consumers by providing Thai operators assistance on the Russian language, and the knowledge of business culture and trade policies of Russia.

Earlier this week, a team of Russian businessmen met and discussed business opportunities with Thai counterparts at the Department of International Trade Promotion. The Russian operators are also to meet the board of directors of Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate in Chonburi, the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI), the Federation of Thai Industries, and Thai-Russia Business Council.

There are currently 1,500 Thais living in Russia, most of whom are spa therapists and students. Russia is one of countries to which the Ministry of Commerce pays special attention, since it is in the group of future economically important nations called ‘BRIC’, which stands for Brazil, Russia, India and China.

Yesterday I was looking at the world corruption league in the Independent. The least corrupt country was Denmark, Singapore at number 3, no sign of Russia or Thailand in the top 20 ( massage the figures and change the rules quick).

The world was coloured as to how corrupt the country was so it went from Yellow to dark red. Even China was rated less corrupt than Russia!

With Thailand trying to break out of the red this is a strange bed-fellow, a bed-fellow with few friends and soon no money, the rouble has lost 40% of its value since the summer, does Thailand have much to learn or gain here?

"... to facilitate business activities of Thai entrepreneurs wishing to do business in Russia in a move to forge trade ties between the two nations."

What a perfect choice. Russians have been supporting "the trade" In Pattaya for years. Now the Thai entrepreneurs can export that trade to their best customers' homeland.

By the way. How is the progress on Thais stopping human trafficking going these day?whistling.gifwhistling.gifwhistling.gif

Yes Thailand, do pay special attention to the rising Russian economy ... but you will have to LOWER your economic expectations if you want to be their trading partner! And if the EU and the USA do not take kindly to you helping Russia break their economic sanctions, your economy make look worse than Russia's economy. Hold onto to your HAT.

Thailand will rue the day it got into bed with China and Russia.

It had good relations with the countries comprising the EU and with the US and Canada especially since WWII.

Now it appears to be stupid enough to prefer these communist countries whose economies are suspect at best and in the tank at worst.

The US has a defense treaty with Thailand and made that clear when it sailed a couple of Nimitz class carrier groups through the area when China was claiming fishing rights in the S. China sea and blocking commercial airline routes over some waters that everyone in the area needed. China backed off.

I wonder if the US would do that today?

Isn't that nice??

Two undemocratic third world countries working together for the greater good!!coffee1.gif

Yes. And it's particularly "heart warming" to see Thailand "cozy up" to China along with their counter part Russia. Oh my.... what a tangled web.

With all the Russians in Thailand will Russia some day find a desire to annex Land of Scams (LOS)?
