Israeli jets 'strike near Damascus' - Syrian army

(BBC) The Syrian military has accused Israel of carrying out two air strikes on Syria, near the capital Damascus.

Israeli planes bombed the area near Damascus international airport and the town of Dimas, the Syrian army said in a statement carried on state television.

No casualties were reported. There has been no confirmation of the air strikes from Israel.

Israel has conducted several air strikes on Syria since 2011.

"This afternoon, the Israeli enemy targeted two safe areas in Damascus province, namely the Dimas area and the Damascus International Airport," the military statement said.

It described the air strikes as "direct aggression" carried out to help the Syrian government's opponents.

Some installations had been damaged, it added, without elaborating on what had been hit.

Israel lives in a tough neighborhood........However its a Shame its someone else's neighborhood !!

What can you do when the neighbourhood includes Iran, who gladly and freely will arm to the

teeth anyone who will use those weapons against Israel, Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas and number

of other terrorist groups sworn to obliteration of Israel..

put those Iranian in check and many of those groups will just dwindle and die...

They were preventing the Hezbollah terrorists from obtaining weapons. Good strike. thumbsup.gif

------------------------

Either it was:

  • If it was the IAF. they did not miss their target ...... despite what the Syrians say.
  • If they did miss their targets, as the Syrians claim, it wasn't the IAF.
  • My personal guess.....The IAF got intelligence of someone attempting to move Syrian weapons out of Syria.
  • The Syrians would never admit that they lost some of the Russian supplied missles.

Lets hope this provocation does not enrage the greater arab world

The the Greater Arab World are probably cheering Israel on in the background. More and more their security interests coincide with the Jewish state.

I think they're far more interested in ISIS than Hezbollah at the moment. But not doubt arming Hezbollah is a condition of Iran's aid to Assad.

So, when is Israel going to re-name their "defence" force to the Israeli Attack Force or the Israeli Aggression Force (IAF)?

Let me see now... what will you have done if you knew that your neighbour, who hate your guts

and bent on killing you and your family, is getting a gun from his friend to come around later

and kill you and all you family while you're a sleeping? would you sit idle and do nothing?

run away and hide? of go out and pre-empt this aggression act before it's too late?......

I wouldn't make there a living in the first place.

Had to shake the head and wince a few times, reading through this thread.

Do people reallly think, or do they just play "What if..."

Let me see, "What If"...Israel was never created? Would it eventually be created at some point in the future? (The Holy Land). If Israel did not exist, would ISIS never have existed? Would Kuwait never have been Attacked (by Sadam), would Egypt, Libya and Syria be peaceful places where tourists just dine out on figs and nuts, while riding camels? Unfortunately, we don't really know...eh?

and of course I would never ask myself what I had done to make my neighbour want to do that.coffee1.gif

That's easy. Being Jewish. The Muslim and/or Arab world simply can't (openly) tolerate a proud strong Jewish state within what they think are their lands. Arabs and Muslims have the highest rates of racial Jew hatred of any demographic on the planet.

Perhaps you shouldn't be sleeping in the house stolen from your neighbor in the first place. Israel should give back the Golan Heights to Syria.

Those houses aren't standing any more, they were too flee infested. The Golan Heights are largely unpopulated it is a military buffer zone, and will not be given to the Syrians.
