Cheap flights to USA June - September 2015

Featured Replies

I have traveled to the USA several times but never from Thailand. My wife & I want to do a US trip later this year and would appreciate advice about route & prices. Leaving Bangkok in the third quarter we need to decide on our plans for the BKK- LAX return leg. I do not want the cheapest possible fare on an unknown airline. Any suggestions on potential (reputable) carriers or likely specials would be appreciated. I am most interested in the main international route. I have other options for the US Domestic transport. I assume one piece of advice might be to avoid travel around 04 July to miss the peak there. Any helpful suggestions from those doing this sort of trip regularly?

China Southern gets pretty good reviews (other than the food) and are very competitively priced.

I did a dummy booking on kayak.com for 10-24 September, BKK-LAX and it came back at $968 r/t per ticket. Delta is about $40 higher per ticket. As you stated, I'd avoid 4 July and travel after the Labor Day weekend if my travel dates were flexible and price was one of the main factors.

Lots of good search engines here and info here:

Maybe you could give us more detail to help you out? Sometimes, booking the entire trip with one airline can be cheaper, and much easier, than switching airlines. Especially if you have a late flight. They'll take care of you if on the same ticket. Otherwise, you are on your own.

Delta would be an attractive option for that reason if I was connecting on from L.A. But plans at this stage are for surface travel for the next part of the trip. Thanks for the links everyone, so far.

China Southern now has 787 Dreamliners. Do they have them on that route?

China Southern uses an A380 from Guangzhou to Los Angles, not the 787.
