December 10, 201411 yr My son has only 14 days left on his tourist visa and now needs to obtain a non B visa as he has been offered a job here and will need a work permit. Yesterday he went to Chaeng Wattana immigration as all docs are ready. He was refused as one doc wasn't signed by the new employer to be. Now he cannot apply within Thailand unless 15 days clear on his tourist visa. He has extended the tourist visa once for 30 days. My question is which is the least painful route to obtain a non B in these circumstances?

This will give him 90 days time to get all sorted out. The Thai consulate there seems to be a better option than Vientiane. P.S. Of course with all needed documents. Should he plan to become a teacher, he'll alas o need a letter from educational area xxx where the school's located. Edited December 10, 201411 yr by lostinisaan
December 10, 201411 yr Author Thanks for that lostinissan. The job is as a factory manager. All docs seem to be in order as they would have processed yesterday in BKK if the one doc was signed. Now he doesn't have enough days left on his tourist visa to apply in Bkk again. If he walked over the border in Cambodia would he get another 30 days? As this would mean he could re apply in BKK. December 10, 201411 yr He could do border run but he would only get 15 days unless he is from a G7 country which would allow him to get 30 days.
