Thai Driving License Requirements

Featured Replies

I can only find out of sell by date answers to this topic.

Has anyone got any up to date information on what the requirements are.

I am basically interested in what form of proof of residence is required.

Any one tried lately?

Many recent information on that question. Either workpermit or yellow house book or certificate of residence.

I have seen an answer to this specific question today- but I can't remember the thread. Yellow book, WP, house rent agrrement, or proof of address from a recognised bill I think it said. Meanwhile here is the official line

No out of sell by date answers, as the rules have not changed for a long time

Contact the local office that issue the license and find out what they require. Most offices have different requirements. If you cannot speak Thai ask a Thai friend or someone who can to assist.

I have always just given them a copy of my condo lease. Since it is easy to buy a blank lease and fill it in yourself, don't do it. Last time they called the Leasing Co. to verify that it was a real lease. My was, but they are on to any tricks that you think you can come up with.

Letter of residence or statutory declaration (or similar) from your embassy or immigration.
