BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha invited top Korean business leaders to invest in Thailand and the Dawei special economic zone in Myanmar on the sidelines of the Asean-South Korea summit yesterday.

At the summit, held in the South Korean city of Busan, the prime minister highlighted the many investment opportunities in the Kingdom as well as the Dawei zone in Myanmar. He later said that the South Korean private sector was very interested in expanding into Thailand.

The two-day Asean-Republic of Korea Commemorative Summit 2014, which kicked off yesterday, marks 25 years of regional ties.

Prayut had a working breakfast with key South Korean businessmen yesterday.

Also present were representatives from the Korean Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, K-water Co, Lotte Hotel & Resort Co, Hana Tour Service, LG Electronics, transport and railway state enterprise KORAIL, Samsung, Hyundai Motor and POSCO, the world's third-largest steel producer.

According to Government Spokesman Yongyuth Mayalarp, Prayut told his breakfast companions that Thailand was an important automotive base for the Asean region and could also serve the South Korean automotive production. He pointed out that Thailand was ready in terms of infrastructure and markets, over and above the fact that Korea is popular as a brand in the Kingdom.

Prayut also said that South Korean technology could help boost the value of Thai farm and food products, and encouraged the country to import more agricultural products from Thailand such as chicken, fruit, rice and natural rubber.

The premier also invited them to help develop five border economic areas in 18 provinces adjacent to Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Malaysia. Thailand is planning to build double railway tracks, standard-gauge tracks and high-speed railways, he said, adding that the two countries should discuss collaboration in these projects.

See the banner? Happiness is spreading.

And some more from another story.

"Asked if Thai people are happy, Pridiyathorn said: "People are happy if they have enough things to eat, have entertainment and freedom of expression." He would not be drawn on whether Thai people currently enjoy freedom of expression, saying only: "If Thai people are allowed that, they will be very, very happy." "

The objective now is obviously very very happiness?

A very odd summit.

It only mentions what Gen. Prayuth said at the summit and didn't even try to fantasizecharacterize what other summit leaders might have said to him like the typical "we understand Thailand's political conflicts." It's almost like he was in an empty room. And the article rudely didn't even name the new President Park Geun-hye who was directly elected by 51.6%. Such mention might have endangered Thai national security. So much easier to appoint oneself as Head of Government and not worry about having to win an election nor be accountable to the electorate that supported your election.

Thai fruit is the best in the world. South Korea your lucky! The durian is my favorite fruit ever! It has a almond custard taste that is like nothing else on earth, I could eat ot all day if it wasn't so packed full of calories. Number two in Thai food is the Vegetables so much choice, Jamie Oliver eat your heart out. Thailand is the king of food.
