Air Asia has a knack for eliciting this kind of behaviour. Some of Air Asia's policies need to be changed. They call you esteemed client but treat you like S#@$t.

I was in the food court at Swampy this week. Place was FULL of Chinese and Russian tour groups. I felt like I was in a kindergarten class with all the yelling and pushing. I did not see a food fight but I bet there was one. More boorish behavior you could not find. Not that the groups were at each other. Just individuals without a clue how to act.

I got a bite to eat and got out of there as quickly as I could. I felt like I needed a shower when all was done.

No seriously, if you want to see a disgusting spectacle go to any restaurant in China and watch the show. Seafood restaurants are the worst, they throw all the prawn shells, crab shells, rubbish etc all over the floor, meanwhile blowing smoke in each others' faces and spitting all over the floor.

Vietnam is similar, they are learning from the Chinese.

This couple most have something wrong with them if they are acting like this even after being sat next to each other? Maybe they wanted some sort of freebie afterwords, didn't get it then went full schizo.

I know a lot of Chinese (living) here and they are decent folk. But I have seen some mentally loud tourists. I remember one guy loudly taping up his boxes in a tiny cafe opposite king power if absolutely no regard for the other customers. Took him like 20 or so minutes. In the end I went to go and talk to him but he just kind of shrugged me off and then left.

But I think the couple in this story are especially nuts and have mental problems.

Chinese blogs are saying the each paid a 50,000 baht fine, but I can't confirm.

To be fair, even my city raised Chinese GF is griping about the deteriorating behavior of her compatriots on flights over the last 3-4 years she's been flying down.

She claims it's more and more "countryside" people, which is Chinglish for bumpkins. The unintended consequence of cheap flights, easy visas and rising incomes among the untraveled.

Rich kid Chinese mainlanders probably. Their parents gained money quickly and didn't know what to do with it so they send their brat kids on a tour that didn't work out quite as they planned. Oh well, I've seen similar situations on AirAsia flights. It's disgusting.

This is terrible! Attacking a flight attendant with boiling water, and threatening to blow up a plane, and all they get is a fine!

I have had to put up with this behaviour on airasia Bangkok to Macau . The route to Macau from Thailand seems to allow PRC Chinese a way to bypass visa requirements that are in place on the land crossings or flights from China . Anyway , they are nuts . The redeye monday morning express was always full of crew cutted mobsters who were escorting large groups of young women . Noisy morons delaying the take off by fighting over who sits where on an airasia flight is a nightmare , as if it wasn't bad enough .

Err, I would suggest that as they are already in BKK then the PRC Nationals already have a travel permit and of course can enter Macau that is in itself an autonomous region of the PRC. No?

Actually I did not bat an eyelid, saw it "live" in Kunming, China, in the main street of the city, middle of the day, people everywhere.

The little circle of dirt around the base of trees planted on the footpath is a popular spot.

China is not the EU Russia England or America

China -that is, the ruling CCP- has very little interest in the well being its citizens abroad.

It reacts to slights against its citizens abroad only to reinforce the appearance that China itself is now powerful, and not to be trifled with. It's more about protecting Chinese national interests than protecting Chinese citizens.

I live in China and flying domestically is just crazy. Due to new affluence, it seems half the pax on any flight (especially around New Year & Mid-Autumn festivals) are flying for the first time... and regard the 'rules' on board as much as they do the traffic laws - following them is totally optional:

- tray tables make great 'toddler' seats during take-off and landing;

- just before the landing gear hits the tarmac, you get out of your seat and open the overhead to 'get a jump' on the competition;

- before the reverse thrusters are turned off, you whip out your cell phone to let the family know you've landed;

- it's okay to smoke because you handed one to every other male in your section of the aircraft.

One would wish this would have happened closer to their destination. Their compatriots would have taken care of that these arrogant &lt;deleted&gt; kids will not see an airplane for a looooong time.

You could be right but I think they need an entry permit for Macau . I would also hazard a guess to say that these crews were not normal tourists but again Macau is full of hard looking mobsters and they might well like their jollies in Bangkok with 30 + dolly birds in tow . I too have experience with the normal tourists every weekend on the Macau to HK ferry and they are at worst noisy and daft. No disrespect intended. Getting violent and threatining flight attendants is the entitiled behaviour of a criminal element.

China has got some real bad people. That woman wanted to disfigure the Thai flight attentant with boiling water in the face. No penalty, the two got to get right back on an airplane. The Thai authority is to lax on those two, should have been a big fine at the very least. Any idea how much money that episode of selfish Chinese behavior cost the airline? How much trouble it caused to the other passengers ? Wish Thai's had at least made those two chinese sit in jail overnight.

total screw ball...these people who cant behave themselves on a plane need to be dealt with seriously, i´ve seen too many idiots on planes over the years, from Chinese / japanese wandering down the plane just before landing, puting the stewardess in danger that has to run after him....from drunken swedish , danish arrisholes.. a russian mouthing off at a thai on an air asia flight and the thai guy beating the sheeite out of him...a drunk dane sitting next to me that was refused any more drink then assaulted the trolley dolly before falling over, he was then threatened with arrest and being cuffed...a loopy nepalese woman fighting with a stewardess over her handbag , climbing over seats, refusing to keep shutters shut when people sleeping..while she filmed the sun with her camera.. , absolute nut cases, is it too much to ask just to behave yourself for a couple of hours???
