What dire time? Do you mean the dire time before the last, or the one before the next? :)

And who cares about a favorite song? Favorite performance, yes!

Has your hamster died?

Rolling Stones live at any concert would yield my favourite song

you luddites are a tough bunch. I am asking for pink floyd, 2 songs. Also really, rolling stones?? against pink floyd??? eeeesh, got a crush on mick or what?

I don't like that Ronnie Wood.

Shine on you crazy diamond and Wish you were here

Any song on "The delicate sound of thunder"

Coming back to life 2nd shine on or comfortably numb.

But.going. back Sid era

See emily play and I have a bike

Ronnie Wood could never hold a candle to Mick Taylor but as far as Floyd is concerned love it all except everything including and after The Wall.

If you like Floyd you should listen to Close to the Edge by Yes if you haven't already. Dark Star off Live Dead, Grateful Dead another one.

Nice topic.

Shine On and Comfortably Numb... closely followed by Echoes. #s two and three are interchangeable depending on day/mood.

Whatever floats your boat, though question wasn't what is your favourite song. So since you've had the audacity to taint a Pink Floyd topic with the Stones, I just have this to say... one-dimensional claptrap! wink.png

The Greatest Rock & Roll Band in the world v Floyd.. No comparison.

But I will never forget that wonderful bird song in Granchester Meadows. Especially in this day and age where you rarely hear the pure, natural beauty of bird song.

I do so hope that makes you a tiny bit happier, you grouch giggle.giflaugh.pngwhistling.gif

Set Your Controls for the Heart of the Sun.

Brilliant song.

Aw, couldn't resist a reply to this, OP has to know this can only be done in stages:

Syd's era

post Syd

the wandering years

from the masterpiece

a classic

"Time"

My favourite Floyd period is from dark side to the final cut

Out of that period favourite albums "the Wall" and "Animals" which I always thought was very under rated by the critics

Comfortably Numb and The Division Bell.

Of course, this too bloody hard, as there ar so many I like, just depend on the mood, but Number One; comfortably numb

Syd's Dominoes, as played by Gilmour at the Royal Albert Hall in 2006 (?year?).

Have A Cigar for all the responses to this thread.

Run Like Hell

Comfortably Numb

Actually, too many to list, so I pulled two out of the hat...

yea really concur with time, mood, and feeling

us and them / comfortably numb

What would that be, that is numb w00t.gif

For me it's difficult to beat Ummagumma, I discovered it many years after its release in 1969.

Never really got on with Final cut

It didn't seem to me Floyd at all but maybe I'm too thick to get the meaning in the lyrics

Good guitar but not the best

to me it was all the tracks that weren't good enough for the Wall or Roger's ego wanting to make something similar to the wall

Just my HO . Quite happy to be. Educated further

Sparkey
