Man Haron Monis lawyers and judges receive death threats and other abuse.

New South Wales lawyers and judges who were part of court hearings involving Man Haron Monis have faced death threats and other abuse.

In a statement on Friday the president of the NSW Bar Association, Jane Needham SC, said she was concerned members of the judiciary were being targeted owing to their part in proceedings that involved Monis, who was shot dead after a 16-hour siege in Martin Place.

She also warned against further amendments to bail laws and said calls for them were premature after a review and changes that are due to come into force in January.

It appears nobody has claimed the body and it is already to late for him to receive a proper Islamic funeral as time has slipped by. The tax payer will have to foot the bill to dispose of the body. Turn it into pig food would be a fitting farewell to such a man.

Is it true that the gunman's girlfriend is in Jail for the Murder of the gunman's wife?

No, she's been on bail for approx one year awaiting Court. GF was also involved in his anti Western activities as well other matters.

"Only a fool would persist with the notion that this was a “lone wolf” attack. There are too many open links to Islamic support from Sydney’s west and the links extend to the heart of Green/Left operatives embedded in the Public Service."

Try a different source to Pickering. He is not respected as a commentator in Oz. Amongst other issues he has been accused of being "an inveterate liar, a bankrupt conman with a seedy history of fleecing the gullible of millions of dollars while not paying his own bills".

Doesn't necessarily make the info in my link false.

Forever the apologist, eh?

No I am not an apologist, but really interested in the background, facts surrounding this incident and any related activity by Oz government to increase the future security of Australia.

Your link contains some outright misinformation e.g. Legal Aid is available for a High Court appeal, whereas the blog claims this is not so. If he gets such basic info incorrect how can you trust anything else he has to say.

Rather than seeking out uninformed statements that you obviously have not bothered to check out, why not wait until the report is released in the coming months. Although legisalation has recently been tightened up (e.g. NSW Bail Act) I'm fairly sure the report will prove an embarrasement to a number of government agencies.

More trustworthy than say someone who goes to any length to defend Islam.

It's irrelevant anyway as apparently the terrorist hired a law firm.

"A subpoena on the bank records of Chris Murphy’s law firm will show who financed the terrorist’s appeal to the High Court."

I wonder where he got the 50k from?

The Australian tax payer funded his legal bills just as they funded his lifestyle since he arrived as a refugee.

Sydney siege gunman Man Haron Monis cost taxpayers $120,000 in Legal Aid court appeals

THE Sydney siege killer cost taxpayers an estimated $120,000 to run his failed appeals against convictions for sending hateful letters to bereaved families of fallen Australian soldiers.

Deranged self-appointed cleric Man Haron Monis twice took his case to the High Court, seeking to overturn his conviction, which ordered he undertake 300 hours of community service for posting taunting letters and DVDs to grieving families of seven Diggers killed in Afghanistan and an Australian diplomat killed in a Jakarta terrorist bombing.

As already stated the killer had access to Legal Aid to fund his appeal. I'm sure you are interested in the truth of matters, so rather than repeating unsubstantiated allegations do some fact checking.

Chris Murphy is a well know Sydney based lawyer who takes on controversial briefs; often related to criminal matters. However, in reference to the killer, Murphy only briefly represented him back in 2009 for a variation of bail conditions for the mail harassment charges.

Nope. Everything I checked out leads back to the paid site of the Australian.

Nice try.

Just saw an interview with a fellow going on about how wrong it was that the press jumped to the conclusion that this incident had something to do with Islam. Yeah, wonder how they got that idea. Let's see, um, oh yeah, that black flag with the creed in the window.

Unless you've already done your own research try the URL below. Gives a fair amount of info, but not as well written as 'The Australian' article.

BTW his GF is now having her bail reviewed.

"Autopsy of Sydney siege gunman finds cause of death was 5 police bullets to the head"

Yeah that would do it

The official cause of death was lead poisoning. Probably 9mm or 5.56 NATO lead.
