As far as i know, surprising enough, fireworks have been illegal here for a few years now.

I say surprising enough because of all the firework displays that there are here! But, again as far as I'm aware, the firework displays have to be controlled by licenced operators.

That said, there are still some shops that sell on the QT and there are enough people selling on the streets before big holidays. Just be careful as to the standards that you will be buying.

It can be enough to ruin both your and any close spectator's lives................................wink.png

Find a shop selling artifacts etc for the Chinese Temples, they have lots of fireworks and cheaper than the usual shops. This type of shop is normally within walking distance of a Chinese Temple.

Want a great night, go watch fireworks.

Want a horrible night, buy dodgy Thai fireworks and let them off.

Never ever again will I buy any.

Don't do it mate. Main problem is wicks that burn to quickly or flare on your hand when you light them, or much worse but so easy to do is start a fire when they come down...especially in rural Issan.

Turn into a nightmare so quickly, but up to you.

Issan is a massive part of the country and you dont say what part but most markets sell them for events like nye.

If you do buy them, make sure you bury the mortars well into the ground and stabilize them properly.

Seriously a great way to end in big trouble fireworks in Thailand are. Dont do it.
