madmitch Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 As a devout atheist I have no idea where to find a Christmas mass but someone has just asked me and I promised to find out. So does anyone know where to find a Catholic service on Christmas Day? The person who wants to know is French so if there's a French Church that would be best I suppose but any ideas will be welcome. They are staying in the Kata/Karon area but I did say they's most likely have to travel. Actually I do know of the makeshift Finnish Church at the Arcadia Hilton but I don't think that will be up their street somehow!
stevenl Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 http://phuketcatholics.com/, Mass on x-mas day, I think it is in Laguna.
fester the benevolent Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 The phuketcatholics.com website seems to be down at the moment, perhaps the good Lord has smote their webmaster or there is a plague in their interwebs or something, but there is a new Catholic church just up Soi 8 off Pasak Road in Cherng Talay. Quite a swanky looking place with a big carpark, it just opened a few months ago. It's round the corner from my house and I see quite a lot of (I think) Filipinos going there and several non-Asians too. Name is St Joseph's (not much for originality those Catholics eh?) Phuket News had a story on the opening party: http://www.thephuketnews.com/new-catholic-church-set-to-open-in-phuket-47035.php
JetsetBkk Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 This is the one I was trying to find - I drive past it every time I go into Phuket Town :
KarenBravo Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Wish people would keep religion out of Christmas.......
