There are lots of dos and don'ts in this country For example, If you show your foot soles to someone in prison you get beaten up. I just like to be on top of every customs so I act accordingly that's all. When I used to work in the NHS years ago I would randomly follow a Chinese man who would leave the casino around the time I was leaving work next door, around 4pm. He would walk to a Chinese takeaway where I guessed he was a cook. The takeaway was about a mile and a half away and was along the same route home I took . He would break into a similar jog periodically but it was exactly the same speed as his walk. I knew this as my steady pace and distance behind him never wavered. Years later I worked in Guangzhou and noted there were thousands of Chinese who did the same thing. Yes I was trying to reply politely but couldn't word it correctly. It wasn't sexual. She was possibly trying to tell you subtly to wear the appropriate attire.
