Dump Hardcore/Rubble, proper location?

Featured Replies

Dear Community,

Happy New Year.

I have some hardcore i need to get shot of, about a pick-up load.

My wife (uni educated in tourism management) suggested by the side of the road. Her friends (uni educated in tourism management) suggested exact locations by the sides of roads. Of course this is not acceptable anywhere, but particularly in a tourist economy resort.

Does anyone know a proper place, maybe a place where they will recycle into new blocks etc.?

Thanks in advance..

Sean

What is 'hardcore'? What does 'get shot of' mean?

I suspect you want to get rid of some old concrete or something like that. If that is the case, contact your local administrative body (tambon administration office or municipality) and ask them.

Most of the solid waste gets sent to Saphan Hin for incineration, but i don't know if they would accept your 'hardcore' at the surrounding landfill.

Anyway, thanks for not following your wife and her friends' disgracefully ignorant advice...and Happy New Year.

No good waste disposal system in place. The tessaban (municipality) will only take what can be put into the black garbage bags. So what to do with for instance waste you accumulate during a building/renovation project? The only two options are to burn it, which is illegal in a residential/tourist area, or to drive around looking for a place where other people dumped before.

Slightly off topic: What do are we supposed to do with old batteries? The Thai I have asked just told me to throw them out with the regular garbage.

You can't burn hardcore as it's usually rubble/fill material. Best look for a new building site looking for some fill material.

For some reason many people believe the car park by the lagoon at Nai Harn is such a place looking for fill material.

Thanks Gents, I shall have a butchers around for some places in need such as building sites. Even though it's just old rubble, its a shame to waste it as it can easily be recycled and repressed into new blocks, such as they do back 'ome..

Why don't you dump it in one of the big potholes on a road here? Most of them would take a full pick-up truck of road fill. biggrin.png
