Thai Website Business

- Domain . name are for you to connect to your viewer / customer / reader / ect ect

What you want is a easy to recall domain name .

The country code used in the domain name is mostly set up by well known company .

That had been icon in the country . so the .co.th help to diffrent them ..

- The local server is kinda laggy . and the backbone support for the web is poor.

for eg. some server is giving a mere 20 GB bandwidth which is very low .

If you look online is easy to find Server giving you 200 - 500 gb bandwidth .

-

Keep your name Simple . So people can remember you and visit you again .

not every have the bookmarking habbit .

-Well do you want your website to have a international market opr just thai market ?

good luck .

That's actually quite realistic.

If you look online is easy to find Server giving you 200 - 500 gb bandwidth.

Only overselling ripoff artists (Dreamhost etc). And who the heck needs that much bandwidth?!

Is there an advantage having the domain name .co.th or .ac.th as opposed to .com (they seem to be more expensive) if the website is for a thai audience - (although not based in Thailand)?

I recommend you to consider getting both, and forward one to the other.

You want it to be easy for people to find your website - also for people who only vaguely remember the name of your site.

I used to work in a company building public websites for MNCs and I was always amazed at how they didn't think twice of spending $100,000 on a website yet wanted to save $50 on registering a few more domains.

cheers
