Good Food

Thought I'd start a general food thread since most of them on this forum tend to be specific to one style.

I'll kick off by recommending the Pad Prik Gaeng at I think the place is called Coffee @8.....on the right as you enter Suk Soi 8......a fiery delight that is.

Avoid the Larb Moo though!

Not to toot my own horn, but this thread seems to be kind of a BARE BONES version of the world famous Pattaya quick and dirty generalist food thread. The old Hit and Run

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/608166-the-hit-and-run-restaurant-review-thread/

Best wishes that this Bangkok "Lite" version enjoys the same resonance.

You're a tart JT....a rhubarb tart! ;)

Come on Bangkok....don't take this abuse!

Sorry Smokes, dont frequent that part of town.

The mrs works out this way and brings me and the dog some scraps back to eat, well worth it, this part of town is quickly turning into an upscale boom town.

Smokes do you remember the Thai food place with the pond at the corner of soi 30?

Isnt The Londoner moving out this way?

Another place off the tourist trail, Smokes take yer mrs shopping at upmarket Paradise Park, or if you are a cheapo like me Seacon Sq, anyway just up the road,

I tried the burger place last week....my gf had the chicken burger which was the highlight I think....beef was excellent too.

Beers are expensive though but very nice overall.

I reckon the weekend Indian brunch at Indus on Suk Soi 26 is a good bet. Nice atmosphere, good service and fairly extensive menu for all you can eat. The menu has changed slightly and the price has gone up a bit to just over 600 ++ but still good value for money.

Another one I frequent is the Jin-Seng Korean restaurant at the Manhattan hotel on Soi 15. Hotel's a bit scruffy but the restaurant is fine. They do a table served and cooked by the staff all you can eat BBQ consisting of 3 styles of pork and all the usual Korean side dishes for 330 baht net. Not at all bad cuts of meat and sides for the price.

Be warned though they're a bit sneaky and if a group of foreigners go in they'll only give you the a la carte menu and you have to ask for the buffet.

I prefer Im Chan, up the road by Phrom Phong BTS. Same kind of place, better food.

Cheers , I'll have a look next time I'm in Bangkok

Tomorrow will be the best falafel in Bangkok....stay tuned JT.

There is no good falafel in Bangkok. Prove me wrong.

Patra's in Sukhmuvit Soi 3/1. Served up with freshly fired naan and the usual delights. D-freakin-lish.
