McStruth
You're never will stop those prepared to provide and those prepared to pay for a little live action, without the need for a mouse. Must say that it's probably in everyone's interest to provide separate zones, Zone A for those seeking a heterosexual encounter and Zone X for lady-boys. The Zone boundaries should be at least 200m apart, and clearly demarcated to ensure that even the merriest of encounter-seekers, can't claim to be an unwitting victim of misleading and deceptive conduct and of been violated

Seperate and distinct zones may well straighten things out

Jip99
If we get rid of all the girls, tourism will increase! Is that the attitude? Take a walk along Beach Road in Pattaya, the girls usually do no harm (ok, some do but that's the same the world over) and they have no other way to make a living for themselves and their families. Actually it's quite good entertainment to just watch the girls "working" for customers. How many millions of baht is this industry worth to Thailand every year? And how many of these girls (and their families) are now going hungry and/or unable to pay their rent due to lack of tourist customers. Has the General made provision for them? Or does he not care? Total nonsense, ( "no other way to make a living") nonsense. ("prostitutes and their families now going hungry") nonsense. Wise up "hugh2121" On what do you base the cr*p you spout? Have you seen them "not going hungry"? What other way do they have to make a living in Thailand? No social security here. Why do you think they became prostitutes in the first place? Hunger? no money? Oh, maybe they just enjoy the life on the streets.....right. Most became prostitutes because they are lazy. Thailand has a very low rate of unemployment, less than 1 %. (deleted) So would you like to support your fatuous assertion with official figures for the percentage of Thais that ARE working ? morrobay
Forget about employment statistics its the definition of employment here that is the issue. From one of the dailies: Suppose someone working in a bank or some office 40/hrs/week loses the job and returns to the family small farm. If that person works just one hour /week they are considered "employed' Edited March 18, 2015 by morrobay

Thongkorn
Poor girls are just trying to make a living. As i have said before 99% of these girls that are there do not want to be. Not because they are lazy because most are put under pressure by their family/ boyfriend or husband to get money. The ironic thing is a lot of Bars and Clubs on Walking street are owned by police anyway. along with many in the Soys. Most of the working girls in Pattaya were taken out of school at about 11 or 12 and put to work on the farm. In their 20's most of them are sole supporters of at least 2 children and often their parents. These ladies as well as the few that dont have to support their families can easily make 60,000 month and up.
