RapidHIT 200
Warrington U.K forensic specialists launches 90 minute DNA identification of suspects.

This DNA identifier machine will prevent anyone reoffending, whilst previously on bail. Given that, it will help to capture criminals very fast through DNA testing in approximately ninety minutes and will be a scientific benefit around the world (Koh Tao comes to mind).

Warrington based Key Forensic Services have unveiled the world’s first DNA profiling equipment for use in police custody suites.

Around the size of a laser printer, the instrument is a portable, self-contained Human Identification (HID) system, designed to automate and accelerate the production of standard DNA profiles from mouth swabs. The swabs are inserted into a sealed cartridge, which slots into the machine.

After just a year on the market, the $250,000 Rapid HIT is already being used in a few American states, as well as China, Russia, Australia, and countries in Africa and Europe.

This system will revolutionize DNA profiling, with samples being produced with the suspect still on police premises. It’s a technology that will change the way investigations are conducted,” said Paul Hackett, KFS Group Managing Director. “In criminal investigations, time is what matters. We are very excited to be offering the world’s first rapid DNA profiling system here in the UK, using the skill and expertise of British forensic scientists from our state-of-the-art Warrington facility. ”

The ‘RapidHIT™’ system can produce a DNA profile in less time than it takes to process an arrestee—under 90 minutes.

By the year of 2050 the Thai police will be equipped with this DNA recognition machine.

The only problem will be that they will go for the cheaper version that doesn't work.

Mai Ben Rai........in the meantime the generous commission will have been paid to them.

Thankfully some areas of the US and the world don't want any more big brother BS like this. It's bad enough with the CCTV being thrown up whilly nilly but DNA superscanners? Imagine what that could do if it was in the wrong hands.

I'm sure it would end up gathering dust in a broom cupboard somewhere or someone would put water in it thinking it's a coffee machine.

I beg to disagree. This will revolutionise the way criminals are caught even terrorists and save so many lives. It’s a Godsend really and will stop a lot of people lying to gain entry into countries saying they want to join family and prevent people getting away with murder. The uses are really endless.
