My Thai wife and I are in Canada (i'm Canadian) and we want to move to Thailand. We're planning on buying a rubber farm in my wife's name to cover the necessities of day-to-day living. Can I do any of the following:

1. Put 400,000 Baht in the bank and live off the money generated from the farm for 3 years until I can get permanent residence. (the $$ would sit in the bank for the whole 3 years) -- or do I need a "new" 400,000 Baht every year?

2. Start a company and get a work permit to earn at least some money (but not my main source of income) even if I make less than the annual 40,000 baht required. I would still have some money in the bank as well.

3. If I start a company can I be the only employee or do I need to employ Thais?

4. Can I even start a company with Non-O or do I need Non-B?

I've tried going through a few pages of the forum and my mind is officially blown from so much information uptake. Feel free to respond in the above numerical order.

Thanks
