January 10, 201511 yr This summer I want my long-time Thai girlfriend (next year my wife) to spend 3 months holidaying with me around Europe. I live in the north of England so want her to have a good look and feel for the place but also want to visit Ireland and France and maybe a bit of a Euro tour . I haven't got a clue what visa or visas She will need could someone please advise . She has her own house and business in Thailand
January 10, 201511 yr She will need a visa for the UK http://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/thailand/, a visa for Ireland may be required, though if she has a UK Visa then she can enter under a visa waiver, providing she has already used her UK Visa to actually enter the UK http://www.irelandinthailand.com/default.asp?content=mpagedetail&id=17321 To visit countries in most of mainland Europe she should apply for a Schengen visa for the country which is her main destination or if she is touring then the country where she enters the Schengen Area, you mention France https://www.tlscontact.com/th2fr/login.php theoldgit
January 11, 201511 yr Obviously you will want to apply for the UK visa first, and soon after the Schengen visa (applied for via the Schengen embassy of the country that is your main destination, France it seems). There are pinned topics at the top of the forum who discuss UK and Schengen visas in more detail. Evidence that the applicant -your girl- should include in her applications will roughly be the same: show that the trip is affordable, a genuine travel plan and that she is likely to return home before the visa expires.

Thank you I also own a house and have a tax code for southern Ireland would it be any easier using Ireland as the main entry point
January 14, 201511 yr I also own a house and have a tax code for southern Ireland would it be any easier using Ireland as the main entry point None that I can think of; though I stand to be corrected. Especially as the Irish visa waiver programme mentioned by theoldgit above is not reciprocal. I.e. a UK visit visa can be used to enter Ireland (provided she's entered the UK first), but an Irish visit visa cannot be used to enter the UK. As neither the UK nor the RoI are members of the Schengen area, she would still need a Schengen visa for France etc.
