Can a child from a previous relationship be classed as a dependant on my marriage extension?

Hello TV members!

Just wondering.......

I have a child from my first marriage in the UK.

I am now settled in Thailand with my Thai wife on a marriage extension.

I've read it's possible for people on retirement extensions to bring their husband/wife on the back of the extension as their dependant.

Is this possible for those of us who have children from a previous relationship in their native country and are on marriage extensions in Thailand?

Just thought I'd ask.......

Thanks.

You child can get an extension under the same clause of the police order that your extension is based upon. They will need a non-o visa to apply for the extension.

From clause 2.18 of Police Order 327/2557

"(4) In the case of children, adopted children, or spouse's children, said children, adopted children, or spouse's children must not be married, must live with the alien as part of the family, and must not be over 20 years of age except in case of the person hereof is of illness or disability and cannot live without support of father or mother: or"

You child's birth certificate. Your marriage certificate, wife's house book and ID card.

Copies of passport pages for you and your child.

Your child would need to go with you when the application is done.

They could get the single entry non-o at an embassy or consulate with just their birth certificate and copies of your passport photo page and extension stamp.
