Double-entry tourist visas available in Laos?

Featured Replies

I've had 2 tourist visas over the past year from Penang and may try and get another one later this month. I was considering possibly going to Laos if it is possible to get a double-entry. Are they still available? I'm a US citizen.

Yesterday i was in the thai embassy i Vientiane and there were Canadian citiziens that obtain it

Yes, both Thai consulates in Laos issue double entry visas.

whistling.gif Yes.

I am a U.S. citizen passport holder and I got a double entry tourist visa in Savanakhet Laos in October 2014.

No problem, and Savanakhet does not require an onward ticket to be shown.

Same day service, apply when they open in the morning and you can pick up the visa the same day just before they close.

One thing you need to understand however, is that their double entry tourist visas expire after 90 days, not the 180 day visas you can get in the U.S.

You get a 60 day entry stamp on each entry, each entry can be extended for 30 days at your local immigration in Thailand for a 1900 Baht fee.

Just be aware that because the visa expires after 90 days BOTH entries must be made before that expiration date.

Used correctly, the visa will give you almost 6 months in Thailand.

I just got a 3rd back to back double entry from Vientiane, although there was a blue stamp which said I must bring proof of residency and income next time.
