Tywais
Something a bit different with this topic. Movies about photography you liked. I stumbled across this article, "40 Movies about photography every photographer should watch" and saw some that look quite interesting to see. For example, Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus. Several others in that article I will have to take a look at. Any other recommendations? Turning her back on her wealthy, established family, Diane Arbus falls in love with Lionel Sweeney, an enigmatic mentor who introduces Arbus to the marginalized people who help her become one of the most revered photographers of the twentieth century. Popular Post sunshine51
Tywais... I would highly recommend the following in top down order; Rear Window...not really about photography per se but of a photographer and what he "knows" he saw. Blow Up...Cult classic along the lines of Rear Window but in the mid-late 60's scenario. Under Fire...Loosely based on a close friend of mine & his adventures in Latin America and having to deal with what he witnessed leading him to burn out, reinstatement and again witnessing more horrors than anyone should be allowed to witness. A too close parallel to my life looking through a viewfinder also. One of Nck Nolte's beter movies I'd say. City Of God...just for what the description says it is. Everlasting Moments...How a camera can change your life...either way...good or bad. War Photographer...For why we who do it...do it. Nachtwey is one of the best; not voted that way by magazines & agencies but by us who do it. William Eggelston In The Real World...Just Google his name...Mr Colour! I believe those are a good start!
FracturedRabbit
"Finding Vivian Maier" is a recent documentary worth a watch. Second the recommendation for War Photographer; firmly confirming why I could never be one even if I had the skills.
