Decommissioning my Concrete Fence Posts - and then ...?

Featured Replies

HELP!

We have a whole load of perfectly good concrete posts that are gradually being "decommisioned". I'm wondering what I can use them for, instead of either trying to give them away - or or just leaving them in a pile.

As there is a rather new and slightly elevated gravel driveway leading up to the house - would it make sense to "line" the driveway on each side with these heavy posts, thus keeping the driveway intact and maybe preventing gravel movement or erosion?

There could obviously be both pros and cons with the idea - though at the moment I can only see the pros! A common occurrence in Pattaya, I believe....tongue.png

Good or bad idea ? Advice appreciated.

Sure why not line the driveway edge with them. Especially if you want to pave the driveway.

Good, thanks. Ain't planning on paving the driveway, though - it's a long one and the cost would probably be too high.

(Smilies ain't working just now (again)- but a "thumbs up", anyway)

They should make nice raised flower/vegetable beds.

Yes, that's definitely a "possible", too - thanks for that idea. Ideal for herbs and such....tongue.png

Nope, ain't got rice fields - or ditches, for that matter.

They should make nice raised flower/vegetable beds.

I've been wanting to get potted plants off of the soil while they do some growing before sale. Laid the posts side-by-side, flat side down and they work out just great. Water drains through, little grass grows up through the reclining posts and they'll last much longer than I'll be around.

That's a good'un.

Did you lay the posts close to each other (touching the next post) or is there a space between each post?
