Mr Songwit in hospital this morning.

PHUKET: -- Police are looking for two teenagers who severely wounded a 46-year-old man in a drive-by shooting in Srisoonthon this morning (January 19).

Thalang investigator, Lt Sanit Nookong, was called to the shooting at 7am, and was led to a house in Moo 6 where the victim had been found unconcious.

Village head, Amnoy Somneang, told police that the victim was Songwit Winyupradit, 49, and that he had suffered three gunshot wounds, in the waist, right leg and buttock.

Police learned that the suspects were two teenagers who were driving a motorbike in the opposite direction to the victim on the Baan Ya-Baan Don Rd. The passenger on the bike fired four shots at him.

After being shot, the victim managed to drive his Yamaha motorbike a further 200-300 metres, where he asked villagers for help.

Before collapsing he told them he had never seen the suspects before.

Mr Songwit was initially taken to Thalang hospital but was later transferred to Vachira Hospital where he is being treated for his wounds.

Police theorised that the shooting might be gang-related but said they will need to question the victim when he has recovered sufficiently to get more information.

A team of officers have already been dispatched to check CCTV footage in the area and collect evidence, including spent bullets, from the scene.

Phuket has seen a series of shootings involving teens in recent months.

Is there no end to these incidents, poor parenting in action!

Impressive marksmanship to hit someone coming toward you on a motorbike as you are

riding toward them. Three out of four times no less. More to this story. I hope they catch

the culprits soon.

PARENTING in Thailand ? are you kidding ? clap2.gif

In defence of some Thai parents, my Girlfriend keeps a close eye on her teenage son very aware of the consequences of neglect. He does his schooling in Bangkok, she gets him back to her Issan village on holidays so he can do some work and hangout with his village friends.

Hopefully this might help to keep him away from Yabba and other irresponsible behaviour, not that all Thai kids end up on that road.

Phuket town is the wild west with these teenage gangs.

Really dangerous to ride around it at night. Many stories of gang attacking students and attempted rapes that don't make the news.

"Phuket town is the wild west with these teenage gangs." - lucky for everyone not living in Phuket Town that gangs like this only stay in Phuklet Town, and NEVER pull a job outside Phuket Town. biggrin.png
