Do I need to get a visa?

Featured Replies

Hi, I fly back to Bangkok on the 9th feb from Hanoi as I'm flying back to the uk on the 12th feb from BKK, the only thing is i was wondering if i needed to get a tourist visa this time as i am totally confused as to what my limitations are in regards to re entering the country. I usually arrive and receive 30 days visa exempt on my passport as I'm a UK citizen, however, when i cam back into thailand from Malaysia in December via border crossing they said that i have been into thailand too many times (i have been into thailand a total of 4 times last year from march 2014 to dec 2014) and need to get a tourist visa the next time i come into thailand, i did not have to pay anything and they did not write anything in my passport and just stamped me in and waved me through. I will only be in Bangkok for 2 days before i leave the country and i have proof of an onward flight. So, will i need to get a visa before hand as i know that there is a 90 day limit within a 6 month period, but does this apply to a new year or just for last year?! so confused!!! please help and shed some light on what all this means! thanks

You can get another 30 day visa exempt entry without a problem.

What they told you at the border crossing is wrong there is no rule limiting the amount of time you can be in the country on visa exempt entries nor the number of entries.
