can you recommend a cheap online thai course

Featured Replies

As the title suggests, Im looking for a cheap online thai course to learn verbal skills. Im too old and tired to learn thai script but would like to be able to speak fluently in the coming years.

There was one course advertised on thaivisa but it was $97 which is too expensive.

Where I live there are no tutors

cheers

If you consider $97 expensive then I suggest your best online option is YouTub. There are numerous videos that teach Thai, most of which are very basic. The cheapest way I found is to mingle with the locals and learn from listening and trial and error speaking. Fluency is a different subject and takes many years for most people.

Thaipod 101 has a 2 week free trial.

You can download the Thai Alphabet Made Easy videos (TAME), which teaches you the whole alphabet in just 26 videos.

Buy some index cards and make "flash cards" with Thai words on one side, and the English translation on the other, with the correct tone.

Of course, the main ingredient is practice. You will need to practice for hours every day.

Learning how to read Thai is much easier than understanding Quantum Physics, 555.

Hope this helps...
