So I flew to PP in order to get a tourist visa and stay 3 more months. I visited several agents, they told me that they can't do it for me since I have "too much" visas already. They told me I should go on my own and try.

But it might take 4 days, and I guess there is a decent chance they decline too.

I hesitate between 2 plans :

1. Show up at the border (Poipet or Dom Muang airport..) and get a 30 days exemption (chances they decline??)

2. Fly to Vientiane directly (expensive!) and get my TR Visa there

Any advice appreciated.

Did you have prior tourist visas from PP or were they from other locations?

Unless you had several visa exempt entries prior to the one you plan on doing now you will not have a problem getting one now.

You will only get 15 days at a border crossing unless you are from a G7 country.

I've used a good agent there in the past (about a year ago). Mr Keo at LMN Travel right next door to the large Paddy Rice Pub on the riverside.

Did you speak to him ? He will know the current situation as he deals with the Embassy every day.

He was offering a 1 day service last year for an increased fee. I used this service.

I can't remember the exact location of LMN travel but it's just a couple of blocks away from Street 144 where I stayed the last time I went there for a tourist visa.

This Mt Keo guy obviously has contacts inside the Embassy to get the one day service which from what I've read others couldn't get at the time so I highly recommend you speak to him if you haven't done so already.

The other agents told me that they became stricter recently. but I will try with Mr Keo right now. If he can't do anything, I'll show up at Dom Muang without a visa and see what happens.

I had 4 visa exempt from January to April 2014, I was in Europe Apr-August, had one more in August, I was on ED Visa from September until now. So I should be fine, right?

Thank you guys

I come back from LMN, he told me that it will be alright since it's the first time I apply in PP. Worst case scenario I will have to show up at the embassy with him for a quick interview. $60 and I will get my passport on the 29th night.

Thank you for the suggestion ukrules!

As for my previous visas, I had two TR made in Europe, and one ED made in Vientiane.
