Reports from Spanish journalists who have a decent track record, not rumour merchants.

There are maybe 2? in this country that don't work with rumors, cant c Spain being that much different and they will probably do an editorial post event wont/dont get tied up in the day to day headliners mate journos and roumer go 100% 2 gether its part of their job to use rumors and build stories, eg the bbc put another headline up 2 day 'bale wants to talk with madrid' and followed by levy is stopping him WOW, but looking at the article, the nearest its got to any substance is a quote from march by an agent <deleted> and then people quoting bookies odds <deleted>, WHEN and if ANYTHING actually happens let me know, i'de be happy to chat.

Did The Saints have a sell on clause as they did with Walcott? I have a horrible feeling they didn't. Will be kicking themselves if he does go for that sort of dosh.

When it happens I understand they will get 5 %.... Fully expecting that to be NEXT summer.

Slightly incorrect!!

Southampton did have a sell on clause, however Spurs bought it out for 1.5 million.

However they will have to pay 5% to Southampton, as its some FA rule about when a club sells one of its players that has come through its academy.

Correction. Not head in the sand. More like closed minds.

Any Spurs fan posting on the Chelsea thread about Guardiola wanting Luiz what do we do?

#}

When it becomes tedious and boringly repetitive you probably say so, no?

I don't find the evolving story tedious and boring at all.

Whatever happens with Bale has huge relevance to many of the big clubs.'

Domino effect you referred to a while back.

Ronaldo's mixed up in this little saga big time.

you ddint answer the question, and look bac we werntt talking bale specific, we were talking luiz or general if u so wish . if it/a thread became boring and repetitive, and just persisted and persisted and persisted again and again you'de say so,,No?

Well that was another evening of feisty BS from visitors to the Spurs thread. What a waste of time. As I said last week, very succinctly I thought, the whole Bale story has been crafted by Marca and amplified by the world media band wagon. It is a load of smelly old <deleted>! Nothing of any substance has come from either club...... And I think Gareth has handled it brilliantly, as has AVB.

Now trot off back to your own woefully poorly supported threads and make up your own stories to keep yourselves amused whilst we keep our attention firmly on Carm's starting 11.

Left Back issue. If there is one. I see AVB might be looking to strengthen. What did you think of Danny' performance in HK? I thought he looked strong and decisive. It will be good to see how he plays in Monaco

Looked great going forward, but didn't have a lot to do defensively so hard to judge ! obviously AVB was having a real good look at him to play him in both games.

Being winger and swapping 2 full bac, defending was always gonna be the 'steep part' of his learning curve, didnt get much/any neg feed bac from his sunderland time , but we all know that aint fool proof , look at caulker!!! ATM i still think he's gonna be ok, but!!!! Between asseoy boy and rose we'll be ok i@ l/b tbh I'm more concerned with kaboul, apparently he was fit in june and we aint seen him get any match time yet!!! ,, anyone info anyone?

Well said Ian. Listening to bunch of envious old hens quoting from pure speculation for information starved hacks in the press is very tedious isn't it. Hence the separate thread so they can bore themselves to sleep.

The only decent read was from the Times which was an excellent piece. Sums up the situation at this juncture.

Hopefully future visitors will come on to actually discuss football. Thats ofcourse if its not too hypocritical to want to discuss football as opposed to groundless gossip

So, 4-3-3 it is!! Looking very tidy for next season and atlas our business is being done early. More good news coming soon!!

Seems completely unreal now doesn't it. Scary that!! Mindyou, that was not the only near miss. Redknapp was trying to loan him out when suddenly Assou-Ekotto picked up an injury. Made it back in the team because there was no one else, showed signs of being a useful attacking weapon from the left side midfield. Rest is history. Well its not quite the story the way Harry tells it but thats exactly how Bale got back in the side. No one else.

As per that very good piece in the Times the sale needs to go through sooner than later or as with Modric before him, we'll be starting off without our top player and no replacement, although i do like the work in progress term not unjustifiably used in reference to Spurs!

mate of mine used to work in the scouting setup at southampton and was involved in the development of both bale and theo walcott - him and everyone else at the time reckoned the hottest prospect of all of them was david mcgoldrick, who has just signed for ipswich town. strange how they turn out sometimes.

Good news?

I think you would be the only Man Utd fan looking at Spurs and thinking that a new striker on the way, and the possibility with getting away with selling Bale for 86m+ Di Maria and Coentrao wasn't good news.smile.png

But lets throw it back to you. Why do you think that any of that is anything other than very good news. The potential world record deal, two proven internationals that would slot straight into our side and a striker with a successful record for four years on the trot in La Liga. Yes Mr Ed were so obviously gutted!

We could ofcourse be a shadow of the side of last season , no big signings seemingly on the way in with a great manager retired and replaced by a bloke with the personality of a flip flop.

Have to agree with that, makes for a strong team - let's see what happens to the 86 Million, when DL has acquired 5 top players and got his money back?

But Carmine you kept telling us he was going nowhere and then try to say that because of the money offered it is OK!! He was always going to go for a hell of a lot of money wasn't he? so your smokescreen doesn't wash with me mate.

Then in the next sentence you quote information from the red tops that you yourself is constantly rebutting facepalm.gif Please make your mind up son cos it is either one or the other smile.png

If you think United will not be contenders for the title you are dreaming or hoping mate and you well know it.............as i said in the United thread expect news later today or at the latest tomorrow afternoon.

Top four is and always will be your dream ARSENAL will always be your daddy.

You will be absolutely gutted when Bale goes, you see that is the difference with Spurs and United....we want Rooney to go biggrin.png because we are not a one man team.

MrRed, you are a one man team, it's just not Rooney anymore. ;-)

Previously the difference was for Spurs and Arsenal a top 4 finish was seen as a success. For Chelsea, United and now City, this is a failure unless they win the prem. Has this changed? I'll leave you are Carmine to debate that.
