2nd Visa extension required

Featured Replies

We entered Thailand Nov 18th on a single entry 60 day tourist visa. We extended that in Chiang Mai until Feb 15th. Our flight back to Canada is Feb 24th. We are getting conflicting stories of what we can do. Can we do a visa run to the Cambodia border and back same day for this extension and how long would it be for.

You could do a border run and get a 30 day visa exempt entry since you are from Canada (G7 country rule) otherwise it would be 15 days.

You would get a visa exempt entry for 30 days simply by crossing the border, turning around, returning to Thailand and just presenting your passport. It's not an "extension."

Towards the end of that 30 day entry you could go to an immigrations office and extend your stay by another 30 days. but since you're flying out on 24 Feb, you won't need to do that.

There's actually more to it than that. You know, the exit - enter - exit - enter part instead of just 'turning around'.

Don't you think you should explain it a little better for someone who doesn't know how to do that?
