90 day report - new since 2015

Featured Replies

today i couldn't make my 90 day report on koh samui.

they showed me a nice paper instead.since 29th of december 2014 it has to be done at the issuing office.

this finds no confirmation on http://www.immigration.go.th/

has anybody further information or experience?

There has been no public notice made of the change, But there have been other reports of the change (including Samui).

The basic rule that you have to do your reports at the office where you got your extension is nothing new. But before they would allow you to make a report at another office if you were traveling around the country this appears to what they have done away with,

You should be able to change your address to another office and do your reports. Some offices including Samui are saying that you have to keep making your reports to where you got your extension until you do an extension at your new address.

Where did you get your extension? Have you moved to Samui?

thanks ubonjoe,

my extension was issued in khon khaen, on samui it's really just holiday.

and the content for notification of staying over 90 days on http://www.immigration.go.th/ says that you can report at offices throughout the country.

Is that what it says, specifically, or does it say offices are available throughout the country ?

Unfortunately the immigration website is so badly maintained (often outdated) that I better believe in what is written here in misc. reports.

Making this useless 90 day nonsense even worse, combined with the fact that some immis do not accept report via mail.

Now you have to adapt your Thailand trips with 90 day report.

(or put aside 2000 to 5000 Baht for fines)

Ridicolous.

Thumbs down and my vote in the poll about expat situation was "worse" wink.png

I think full content of this makes it a bit clearer.
"Offices accepting notification:
1. Immigration offices throughout the country

2.For foreigners who residing in Bangkok contact at Immigration Division1 Office, Chalermprakiat Government Complex,Chaengwattana Rd., Laksi ,Bangkok"

There are other rules that state you normally need to report to your assigned office. It was meant to stop people from just going to the nearest office to where they are living.

I think that this latest rule change is a bit of a crackdown on people using agents to get under the table extensions at offices other than where they are living. Again punishing those that are doing things by the rules that are just traveling around the country now having to mail in their reports if possible or being sure they are home when a report is due.

you won't believe it.

after two tries in samui they insisted that i have to report in khon khaen. they just show you a nice printed paper which explains law has changed due 29th of dec 2014. from now on reports only at issuing office. no details such as law number ...

so after a call with khon khaen they said i should mail the needed copies with ems, an envelope back plus stamps and not to forget some money. it was the 29th of jan and my date was 1st of feb. normally you should send two weeks prior. usually the reports are free. whatever i added a 500.

on 12th of feb my receipt arrives in samui including a very small note on a shit-small-inofficial piece of paper (about 3x10 centimeter or 1 by 4 inch) saying what: "next time report at samui immigration"

super - for sure that will convice the samui officer! it's once again in thailand: so boring, hopeless, ineffective, disorganized, planless ... - thai style.

Same here. Instead of doing battle with 2 Immi-Offices simultaneously , I shall be doing visa-runs as long as my current extension is valid. After that, everything strictly thru my assigned "Home-Immi-Office.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After that, if I should ever be faced with any other immigration hassle (in whatever form or shape), I shall be leaving this Banana-Republic and spend my money elsewhere.

Cheers.
