thelongshoot
Hello all. For some reason I am struggling to chose a hotel for my visa run trip to Penang. I once did a visa run there in 2003, just looking at the choice ofhotels it seems to have changed a bit now. Can anyone suggest a nice hotel withing strolling distance of pubs, restraunts etc? Im pretty sure the last time i stayed there I was on Chula Street, just looking at the map, but i cant be sure. I remember there being half a dozen modern type pubs/bars with one pretty big 'Gullivers' type pub. I cant seem to find it on the maps, if anyone could suggest good hotel around there or just a good street in general to stay i would appreciate it! No budget really, happy to pay up to 5 or 6000 Baht per night. Good wi fi is a must as I will be working on line. Many thanks for you help! stuurman
The Yeng Keng Hotel is on Chulia street, it's rather new and it is a renovated Chinese mansion. Very well done. The restaurant on site is pretty good and does Hainanese food.
