Is there an 'In Memory Of' forum?

Over the many years of being a ThaiVisa member, I know a number of well-liked, forum members who have sadly, now passed away.

Is there an 'In Memory Of' sub-forum or similar, which lists the members who have passed on? If not, is it a reasonable suggestion to create such a sub-forum, so that other members can post their memories of these members?

The OP seems to consider that Thai visa members and ex-Thai visa members are old mates.

This is just a list of forums where anonymous persons sign up and participate, I would not even consider them as acquaintances. The Chiang Mai section does have pinned Page of Remembrance

Why are you so sour?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but only being realistic.

I subscribe to many themed forums plus online magazine and newspaper comments and rarely note the user names of those I respond to. I am more interested in the topics and contents of these threads rather than the user names of those who participate. There are a few noted regulars on here and if for whatever reasons they ceased participating and never heard of again, I would hardly give it a thought.

The reality is that we know nothing about those who subscribe as members on Thai visa, so why would we want to create a memorial for anonymous persons we know nothing about?

It`s just a case of playing a game where the players come and go and certainly not people I would consider as a mainstream of my life, even though I enjoy participating regularly on these threads. But as I said; it`s the subjects I enjoy most and couldn`t really give a rat`s behind about the user names involved who are in incognito, mean nothing.

Welcome to the real world.

Did you actually read that which you posted or even consider the implication of the post?

I get beetlejuices post, but some of us here actually know a few of the people here personally. The only way we find out is if a family member reports it, obviously.

I think the op idea is plausible.

There's a few here when their time comes, I'm gonna raise a glass and sigh relief.

But certainly would never celebrate someone else`s demise, even if they are complete strangers, that`s a really twisted way of thinking by persons that must bear many grudges in their lives for some reasons or another.

Thai visa is not a type of online social club or a place to form online relationships with other participants, because those I know personally are usually on my facebook friends lists or in contact by regular email. TV is only a means of gaining information that permits users to discuss and voice their own opinions on the information published by what and whoever. That`s all there there is to it. As for who comes and goes it`s all insignificant in the scheme of things, but anyone who is normal, would never wish others harm or dead just because they failed to agree on a forum. Those that do, I would say; get a life.

Now - forgive me if I point out something that may upset you.

You have made it patently clear as to the way that you use Thaivisa.

You are perfectly entitled to use it as you see fit.

Here's the rub, though.

Make space.

In your mind for the idea that -

Other people - wait for it - USE THAIVISA DIFFERENTLY.

We are not all social misfits you know.
