Hey guys. My current ED Visa extension stamp expires on April 10th, 2015, and I would like to do a 1 year Marriage extension off of this Non-Immigrant visa.

Questions:
1. Confirmation that I can do this?
2. When is the earliest day that I can/should go to do this?
3. I recently got a new passport, but have yet to transfer anything to it. Do I have to do anything before then or can I just present both of my passports (old and new) to them when I go?

Thanks!

1. You should be able to change the reason for your extension but there are some office that will no t do it. You may have to go out to get a single entry non-o visa.

2. If you got a letter stating you are no longer attending classes you could do it at any time.

3. You should get the stamp transfer done as soon as possible after getting the new passport.

1. You cant do this in Bangkok, I just tried a few weeks ok and was told its impossible with non ED it must be a non O. I had all the docs and everything and they didnt care so had to go out to Laos and get a non O.

CW is one of those that will not do it now.

It would be best to make a trip to Vientiane or Savannakhet to get a single entry non-o visa.

I don't get the replies here.

I went from ED '0' to marriage extension 'O' easily because ED is a non O right?

In fact, it was ubonjoe who helped me through all of it.

It was actually very easy. Maybe different where the OP is living.

Things have changed since you did it,

Offices that did it previously now don't claiming it is a rule change.

oh ok, I was lucky then. I only did the marriage extension 6 months ago. I wasn't aware the rules had changed.
