Hi All,

Maybe this is a repeat as internet line just cut as I posted first attempt.

Wife and I to Chiang Mai Immi tomorrow for our Retirement Renewal and have just noticed that our TM6 Entry cards were held and not returned by Immi at entry point - Bangkok.

Everything in Passports correct including a USED stamp against our re-entry Permits dated 10th January this year.

We are still within our Retirment renewal date - all correct.

But we now do not have the TM6 no to put into our TM7 form for Retirement Renewal.

Is this a new Policy or have we got a problem??

Hope to hear today.

Best Rgds - glad to be back.

You should have the departure part of the TM6 in your passports, the arrival part is retained by incoming immigration.

If they are missing it's not a major issue, just explain the situation at immigration and they'll give you replacements.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

You should of gotten the departure portion of the card. They don't always staple them in place now. Are you sure you didn't misplace them.

It may slow down the application process by not having them. They should give you replacement cards without a problem.

No they don't hold the departure cards at BKK, but they don't always staple them into your passports, either. When we returned from a recent trip to Cambodia, I noticed that Hubby's was missing, but I had mine. I went to CM Immigration and the fellow at the Info counter in the center said "No problem, get one when you leave the country" (maybe he thought I was a tourist). I said, no Hubby will need it for his next 90 day report. Then he checked with an I/O who said to go to the airport to get one. When I pointed out that we'd entered via BKK and not CNX, she reluctantly agreed to make a new one for Hubby. I think (maybe) it helped that I had mine and we'd arrived on the same flight. Our TM6 card number is just one digit different.

They really don't like to make new ones at CM Immigration (and will do everything to make you go away), but they will eventually make one if politely pushed enough.

Hi Nancy,

Just a quick note to apologise for not getting back to acknowledge - had my wife a bit poorly and got distracted - Sriphat Hospital have been marvellous and all well now.

But my thnxs for your reply - in fact it was the same problem for us - they had not stapled the TM6s into the Passport and in the scramble of the changeover at BKK to get the CNX flight my wife had placed them in with the tickets.

Fortunately she being a veritable 'squirrel' and having safely stored away the tickets meant they got discovered in time and we got our 12 month extension no probs.

You helped us a lot with your advice at the time when we were just getting started here with our 'Retirement' - so as stated my thnxs.

Best Rgds.
