To answer your question, you are not expected to tip them. Totally up to you. I usually tip them though, it feels better to give money to someone who works for almost nothing than to spend it on queer stuff like beer etc.

Yes, usually a 500 baht tip is normal for those hard working lads.

500 ? please tell you joke

Yes Stradavarius, stop pulling the guy's leg.

These are the boys with the torches and not the whistles, you should never tip these parking attendants less than 1,000 Baht. biggrin.png

At least 1000b.. I had one with a flashing led light. and he had a whistle so whistle and flashing torch usually worth 1500b.

Tipping these guys in Thailand is an unspoken law and the tipping is as follows;

500b - whistle

1000b - standard torch

1200b - whistle & standard torch

1200b - flashing torch

1500b - whistle & flashing torch
