Ed Visa Extension: Where to Process?

Featured Replies

I'm running with an ED visa for the last 6 months. My school is located and registered in Pathum Thani. The school always obliges us to process the extensions in Pathum Thani IMO. I don't really understand why. I'm living in Bangkok so it's far more convenient for me to apply extension in Chang Wattana IMO.

Besides the last visit in PT IMO went really wrong. I got only 1 month extension instead of 3 months. Actually I was offered 3 months only with certain conditions of which anyone here understands what it could be!! I, of course, refused it.

Questions:

Are students really obliged to process their extension of days at the IMO where the school is located and registered? May the place of residency be taken into consideration as well?

Thanks All for your advice.

You have to go to the immigration center where your school is located. What were the conditions for 90 days?

In Bangkok? At CW? Really?

Reread the OP. It was at the PT office.

Yes unfortunately you have to do your extension where you go to school.

The only way to get around this would be if your school had a branch somewhere else and they agree to register you in that branch.

And obviously you would have to provide a local address too.

Chaeng Wattana is not much better if thats any consolation

As far as I know, the IMO will give students 15 days visa first then after 15 days, students have to go to IMO for the 75 days visa.

That is only being done at Jomtien immigration in Pattaya. They are giving a 15 day under consideration stamp and then then the 90 day extension stamp after the 15 days if the application is approved.

@UbonJoe

what do you think on this matter? Can I get an extension at CW or have to stick with PT? I'd like to have your point of view on it.

Thanks

You have to apply where you are attending school.

Extensions based upon attending school and for working are both an exception to the rule for doing them where you live.
