willyumiii
I'm planning a vacation in the south soon and would like to visit both Hua Hin and Krabi. I have been searching the internet for a boat service that goes from Hua Hin to Krabi or even Pattaya with no firm results. I appears that there was a ferry that made the trip in 3 hours, but it has gone out of business. The prospect of 10 hours on a bus or even 8 hours in a car going up to BKK and then down again, does not appeal to me at all. Does anyone know of a boat service that makes the crossing?? Even hiring a small private plane ( if reasonable) would be considered. Any advice, contacts or information would be appreciated!
bkkjames
Hua Hin to Krabi in 3 hours? Just head back to bangkok and then fly to krabi on commercial plane.
richard_smith237
You could do a one way Car Hire - its about a 6 hour drive. Otherwise Bangkok is your travel hub.

Popular Post keestha
Take a look at the map. A boat from Hua Hin to Krabi would have to go through the strait that separates Singapore from Malaysia. Apart from that, due to insurance matters, in Thailand there are only ferries to islands, not between places at the mainland. mick01827
Hua hin to krabi is across land, I looked at doing the trip at Xmas but decided it was too much hassle, I personally didn't like krabi, very expensive, hardly any beer bars and full of muslims, I couldn't even buy beer from the local shop next door to my hotel because they didn't sell alcohol. Aonang does have some lovely beaches though.

deepcell
Hua Hin and Pattaya are located in the gulf and Krabi is in the Andaman Sea, there are no way to do this trip by boat! In other words, it is impossible. Fly from BKK/DMK to KBV.
simon43
Why don't you take the train from Hua Hin to Surat Thani? It may be slow, but is an enjoyable way to see the countryside

willyumiii
yes agree it is making you look like a goof Yes, I know that... I was thinking about both Pattaya and Krabi.... and had been looking at posts about the ferry that use to go to Pattaya and back. It would be tough dragging a boat overland.

All to do with web hits. The Mods are hoping that your appalling lack of geographical knowledge about Thailand will draw hords of posts and comments that pour derision on your original post... Pretty soon, this will be the hottest thread on the forum. Seriously, take the train Well, bring em on.....I deserve it. I did have a few beers this afternoon before posting this, tried to edit it and could not. The train is a good idea..thanks!
