Pattaya vs Detroit

I will not pretend that I have given this some deep thought, but I love the headline for the post, so I must respond.

I just listened to Detroit Medley by the Boss (Bruce Springsteen for you non-Yanks). That is one reason Detroit has it over Pattaya - it is the music and the soul.

You will probably find that there are fewer Ford workers in Detroit than Pattaya. Which probably means that it is safer as you wont be run off the road by a Ford Everest on a life or death mission to get an employees wife to a coffee morning.

Theres lots of nice places in the USA but Detroit isnt one of them. Let me say if someone thinks its crime rate is equal to pattaya they are seriously confused.

I feel I can walk through the streets of Pattaya during the day and not get mugged, Detroit on the other hand would probably end up dead.

It may feel that way but the many tourists who have been mugged in places like Pratumnak would probably disagree with you.

That said there are places in the world that are much more dangerous than Pattaya and I never worry about leaving my condo at any time of day or night to go to the local shops etc.

detroit has lots of whores because the unemployment rate is sky high. you can also get houses for free if you pay the back taxes.

kind of like pattaya without the glitter.
