Short overview that doesn't make sense to me:

44 years old

I started to exercise more: Basically every day hard training 1+ hour which results in sour muscles (every day other bodypart).

I ate lots of protein, but not crazy amounts maybe 150 gram per day (bodyweight 65 kg).

After 3-4 weeks I did legs, back and abs training (including heavy sidelifts if that might be important) and I have really overdone it.

Than I ate a huge amount of chicken which might (not sure) be also very fat.

From than on I feel very bloated on my belly, like my guts can't process the food or I am not producing enough bile.

I had back pain which I thought are the muscles or it might has been the muscles on the beginning.

I noticed brown urine, rust brown, but didn't think much. I woke up many times in the night and needed to pee. But never large amount came. I thought I wake up from the back pain and didn't think much about it.

After 1 week I noticed traces, small spots of blood in my urine. I read in the internet if hit with the edge of the hand that area for the kidney and it hurts, it might be not back pain but kidney pain. It hurt and I than I felt it clearly that the kidney hurt on both sides. I think before the back AND the kidney hurt. I had only mild pain, never some really bad pain.

I stopped all exercises but lite bicycle riding, changed to carbohydrate rich diet with less protein, try to drink a lot but not crazy amounts.

First the red spots stopped, than the brown color got lighter ever day. Now it is almost like normal in color.

So all good now.

In 2 weeks I want to check kidney and liver, what tests should I make?

Beside lab should I make some check for stones (kidney, bile) (Note never any big pain)?

Of course I want to do things cost effective.....

Dark urine usually just indicates dehydration. Hence getting better after drinking more. It could be due to small amounts of blood, and you mention seeing some actual blood in the urine. Back pain, abdominal discomfort and blood in urine could be due to stones.

To check basic liver and kidney function, tests are:

Kidney: creatnine, BUN

Liver: AST, ALT, Bilirubin

These are parts of most standard check-up packages, as is a urinalysis which will show if there is blood or bilirubin in your urine, among other things, and may also reveal smal stones being passed.

Thanks Sheryl, very good information as always, will do that.

The blood I saw were small spots with bloody "tail".

like a 5 cm long red sperm.....

Not many, maybe 5-7 total. But on the beginning I didn't look at my urine and I don't wear glasses on the toilet.....So it could have been more.

I for sure wasn't dehydrated and surely not the last few days and urine was brown, unusual brown like I have never seen before. Like the brown from a rusty water pipe. I think once the urine was a bit pinkish, but can't tell for sure.

My grandfather had kidney stones when young.if that can be genetically.

If yo uwere ntoi dehydrated then the "rust" color was probably due to blood.

Besides stones, this can sometimes just happen as a result of excessive exercise. google "exercise hematuria".

If you would have read it finish, the last part is about it. Also I just sent St. Louis hospital an email if I need an appointment next week or if I can just drop in.

By today the urine is complete normal and I don't feel any problems so I won't die any time soon. As Sheryl told, most probably some stone.

I doubt that as the sour muscles were always good after 1-2 days and I got a nice increase in strength. Doesn't mean that it didn't happen, I just doubt it. I more think of I shook down a small kidney stone......

That or simple exercise hematuria, which is not uncommon after strenuous workouts and resolves with rest.

You do not need an appointment to get a physical at St Louis, just fast before going.
