Extension of Stay Financial Proof Correct Lexicon

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm about to renew my extension of stay based on marriage application. When I submitted my previous application, the immigration officer rejected the 6 page "bank statement" from Bangkok bank because all the pages had to be signed, but only the first page had Bangkok bank signature. I since realized that they maybe didn't want a bank statement, as I already had shown the passbook, but a letter certifying I had the money there for 2 months.

Now, I want to hand over the correct documentation to avoid frustration and time wasting. So, I'd like to know the right lexicon I need to employ at the bank for this kind of financial proof.

Thank you

Just tell the bank you need a letter for Immigration showing your balance.

They will know what is needed.

I went to Bangkok Bank headquarters last year and asked for a letter for the immigration. I ended up with the 6 page "bank statement".

That's why I'd like to know the correct vocabulary for the financial proof.

You get a letter confirming you balance. You show your bank book and attach copies of its pages to prove it has been in the bank for 2 months.

If you are going to immigration at Chaeng Wattana I suggest you get the bank letter from the Bangkok Bank branch in the basement there. They will know exactly what is needed.

Thank you, Joe, for your reply!

I'll ask for a letter confirming my balance then.

"bank statement" from Bangkok bank because all the pages had to be signed,

At Jomtien at least, you would have a signed original letter from the bank manager indicating your current balance and any foreign originated deposits in the past three months.

The photocopies of the pages from the passbook, and any other photocopies submitted with the application, have to be signed by you. That implies you are claiming them to be true copies.
