clockman Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 You know tripadvisor is only a guide! not always right?
Upnotover Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Three Four Thai beaches in Asia's top 10 list: TripAdvisor
hansgruber Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Karon made Thailand's top 10? Is Stevie Wonder the reviewer?
roo860 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 It's very important in Phuket, did you not know!!!!!
ratcatcher Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Son of a beach, Pattaya Bay not on that list?
thesetat2013 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 One has to wonder how much TAT paid to get these spots. I could be wrong though given the reports only speak about the sand and the sea. They don't mention anything else. Does anyone know if this guy visited these places before Prayuth had the vendors and chairs removed?
berybert Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 They cant manage to count 4 out of 10 properly but are confident 27.1235467% more people will visit said beaches this year compared to last.
SoilSpoil Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Good that the more private beaches are ignored.
starkey_rich Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Karon made Thailand's top 10? Is Stevie Wonder the reviewer? He must have been considering it says it located a little uphill??? No mention of the numerous drownings per year there. I heard somewhere that tripadvisor has something going on with TAT don't know if that true or what
englishoak Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Who gives a a rats about a made up listing on popular tourist beaches ? When Phuket has even one on the list you know its a load of rubbish I can think of more outstanding beaches that arnt on that list and the last thing im going to do is tell people and ruin them.
lemonjelly Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 due to the fact that they are the most visited beaches.......
Sviss Geez Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 One has to wonder how much TAT paid to get these spots. I could be wrong though given the reports only speak about the sand and the sea. They don't mention anything else. Does anyone know if this guy visited these places before Prayuth had the vendors and chairs removed? " Does anyone know if this guy visited these places..." There isn't "a guy" visiting these beaches, there are different individuals expressing their opinion of various beaches on the Trip Advisors site.
hanno Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I have been to all the beaches in Thailand listed and I really think they are not all that bad. But of course the usual TV forum reflexes are kicking in.....
surangw Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 will patong be outlawing large brimmed hats for shade soon ?
Lokie Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Hilarious, beaches are the worse I have seen in my short time in coming here since 2006, was much better before they shifted the sunbeds and illeagle bars/resturants etc Now they do not look inviting and if the sun is strong then at your peril if you have kids, is ridiculous what has gone on. Get shut of the jet ski's bring back Sunbeds and Umberellas (in a controlled fashion) also licence beach vendors - Bars/Resturants... Oh forgot is Thailand - impossible to be done fairly to all, but never mind Trip Advisor says all is well?
Xircal Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I heard somewhere that tripadvisor has something going on with TAT don't know if that true or what Could well be true. Here's an article along those lines: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/hotels/8050127/Tripadvisor-reviews-can-we-trust-them.html
alfalfa19 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I've been to Naiharn, it was nothing special in my opinion. Cloudy water, rip off merchants, etc. Beaches on Koh Chang have it beat hands down.
smotherb Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 You know tripadvisor is only a guide! not always right? I've read so much garbage on TripAdvisor, I thought I was reading . . . .
mango66 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I've been to Naiharn, it was nothing special in my opinion. Cloudy water, rip off merchants, etc. Beaches on Koh Chang have it beat hands down. beaches in Koh Chang ! you get free sand fly bites, a souvenier which lasts foir nearly 2 months on your legs and scin !! Very nice beaches indeed !!
mango66 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I can agree with thang Nai pan noi ! Havn't seen a chinese yet there !!!
gk10002000 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I agree with Karon beach. The water is fine being on the west coast. Plenty of restaurants across the street. No street noise from cars. Enough nightlife to go out and have a drink or two and chat with some ladies. But what I liked most was being able go in the water, turn around and face the land and look up and see the giant buddha. To me that was supremely serene and awe inspiring. The green hills with the buddha rising above it.
gjoo888 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I heard somewhere that tripadvisor has something going on with TAT don't know if that true or what Could well be true. Here's an article along those lines: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/hotels/8050127/Tripadvisor-reviews-can-we-trust-them.html Where in the Telegraph story does it imply that the TAT "has something going on" with Tripadvisor?
Jiggo Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 What number was Pattaya.........when there was one
daveAustin Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I'd put Kata Noi in front of Nai Harn. Don't understand the cynicism, Phuket deserves some accolades for its beaches. There might be more stunning ones in Phi Phi and Samui area (Ang Thong) but this ain't about that apparently.
Johnny S Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Shows that Tripadvisor is sheit - No Vietnam beaches on the list ... Have nobody ever been to Hoi An or Nha Trang - beat most thai beaches for sure and cheap
