Lunar new year is the pc term for chinese new year

This is because not only chinese people celebrate this. Vietnamese ppl do and they call it tet. Sure americans heard of the tet ceasefire during the vietnam war and the koreans do too.

Japanese used to celebrate it but no more.

I don't think the Chinese people care what the Vietnamese people call their New Year and vice versa.

This. And both in China and Vietnam it is also called the lunar New Year. Not because of PC but because that is what it is. Duh!

I prefer to take a more rational approach than one based on fairy tales and start the calendar at 14.7 billion years or thereabouts
