There seems to be so many negative comments about the en masse arrival of Mainlanders for Chinese New Year. Am I the only person who sees the upside in this? The speak good English, they have got money to burn and they want to party. I am amazed that so many farangs are still haemorrhaging cash on Thai hookers when there are so many Chinese girls in town looking for a holiday romance. It is easy to impress them with a bit of the local lingo and they are quite happy to eat at even the cheapest street stalls. Thai food is light years ahead of anything in China and they cannot get enough of the stuff. They relish the opportunity to show that they can be as polite and as charming as any other nationality once they have escaped the cultural norms of the Mainland. Best of all, Thailand is cheap for them compared to Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong and so they are happy to flash their cash while they are on their vacation.

The media seems filled with reports of badly behaved Chinese but compared to a lot of the white trash that are already here, they are like angels, especially the girls. I don't about you but I am very happy to see them take the place of all those miserable Ruskies, arrogant Arabs and binge-drinking Brits. I am off out again tonight to meet some more. Surely I cannot be the only guy who feels like he has won the lottery?

Agree entirely with the OP. Seems that what is happening in Thailand started years ago in Dubai. Experience shows that they are fun to be with, work hard to master English and are very accommodating in the sack. Many have money and lots of it and they are keen to learn the ways of the West. Let us not be too critical or if we are, let it be based on fact and experience.

So here are a few tips.

Chinese girls look and dress different from Thais and so they are very easy to spot. Long for big floppy hats, long hippy chick dresses and blue aviator sunglasses. All of these are dead giveaways. Thai girls are usually clutching their phones while Chinese girls will be clutching street maps. They often wear big Jackie O sunglasses and carry umbrellas to protect them from the sun.

Best place to spot them is while they are having breakfast at their hotel. Simply choose a hotel that is popular with independent Chinese tourists such as the Feung Nakhorn. Head over between 9.30 and 10.30 and take some bread to feed the fish. Stick you hand in the water and the greedy little bleeders will suck on your fingers. Spot of couple of nice girls at one of the tables and say Ni Hao. Ask them if it is their fist time in Thailand and what they are planning to see? If you live in Bangkok you should know everywhere that they want to see and if not then shame on you and you need to head back to Nana. As well as the must see sights take them to a few special places that will not be in their guide book and do not be afraid to let them pay. Teach them some Thai and interact as much with other locals as possible. Get them to help you calibrate by spotting other Chinese tourists. Teach them about the culture and impress them with your local knowledge. If you hit it off let them invite you for dinner later and then take them dancing. Escalate and escort back to the hotel.

Khaosan, Silom and MBK will be full of Chinese girls but the best way is to catch them early before they head out for the day. They will be dead nervous and will grab at the chance for a westerner to show them around.

I never visited China, but I said that because 2 experiences I had here, just in my first months in Thailand. My first Thai girlfriend was a 46 years old divorced Chinese/Thai widow in Bangkok, very into Chinese Buddhism, but very much into sex too. Very direct, spontaneous, sensual, and I tough that will be typical to every Thai mid age women. I was wrong.

Never met any other Chinese woman, until one night, months later, staying in a hotel in Sukothai.

Going to my room at a second floor, in the evening, I met on the stairs a very beautiful 22 years old Chinese in vacation. She just arrived, and she asked for some directions, and opened a more longer chat. I invited her for a coffee, thinking that she may reject the invitation for a night date, with a lot older farang. She accepted and we had a good exchange at a local nice place. She was an university students, fluent in English and French, first time in Thailand. She was a very interesting, cultured, and classy young woman, and very, very tall and beautiful....and also too young. I was 65.

Coming back to the hotel, I had a dilemma and a fight with my mind and body, to decide what to say and do by her room door.

Was not easy, but I said just Good Night.

Next day, I saw here again by the pool, and she was even more beautiful on a very small bikini. We exchange Hellos. She was seating with a young farang, in her age, and having a romantic good time. Lucky guy.

Maybe not you average mainland girls, but these are certainly not average Chinese girls. Go out and meet a few and you will find that they are the most adventurous of their peers. Most of them have good jobs, otherwise they would not be able to afford to holiday here in the first place. Anyway, if they do not speak English, how do you think that they navigate their way around Bangkok.

Try talking to a few, I am sure that you will be very pleasantly surprised.

Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai and Beijing are full of girls that work in multinationals where they have to speak English. And lots of them come on holiday here.

Good point. 

Not just Chinese but Korean and Japanese women who visit Thailand (and Bali) look for a fling during their stay. I guess it depends on vibe but the ones at bars, I would think, are accommodating.
