TOT on samui

1024/512 package

148 down

127 up

so i guess i'm entitled to about a 80% discount!

seems they sell the same connection to lots of people,

so speed varies according to who is using it.

sometimes slow as a dial-up connection.

any laws here to protect the consumer?

yeah, i know, i hear u all laughing!

CsLoxinfo - 1.5Mbps/512Kbps (Actually, it's 2Mbps/512Kbps but my stupid TOT line does not support the full speed.. at least that's what they said)

True Move at 08:50 Bangkok Time

Download Speed: 1544 kbps (193 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 422 kbps (52.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

I'm paying close to B2000 a month. Is this right? seems like I am paying just a tad bit too much.

What do you guys think?

Download Speed: 239 kbps (29.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 392 kbps (49 KB/sec transfer rate)

Retest at 10:30PM.

What a huge difference...

Have no idea how i got 880kbs download - its only a 512 down/256 up connection

True unlimited no data cap. Not bad for around 600 Baht!

My 1.5mb ADSL1 connection in Australia was faster but costing $149.99 p/m (4000 baht)!

It was unlimited data though and no cap.....still im happy with my true account if speeds like this keep up

:o

340/192 at 14.20 Tues. Package, "True" 512/256. Location Northern Bangkok. The most I have ever gotten has been 445/220 on a weekday morning at about 06.00. Come 22 the whole service goes down to about 150/190 which is aload of rubbish. I can only dream about how nice it would be to actually surf the net at full speed!

The highest download i've had ever with this true 512/256 package is 1304 kbs from the Adelaide server sponsered by internode at 8/17/2006 6:48 AM GMT , the highest upload is 405kbps from the singapore server 8/27/2006 9:21 AM GMT..........at the moment the average from my last three measurements were 230kbps up and 173kbps up - singapore server. for browsing the internet its more than ample, but then again i remember using a 900 (or was it 400) baud modem many years ago...hilarious...ol' bulletin boards :o

From my wireless connection, using the Mahidol Unversity connection.

Last Result:

Download Speed: 14862 kbps (1857.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 2123 kbps (265.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

:D I don't believe this! :D:o

lol, Why would I lie about something like that? :D If you work at the #1 university in Thailand (according to the rankings released today), you get extra perks, I suppose.

I use my connection for only the most important game playing, so you can rest your mind about that.

:D I knew you werent' lying.. I just wish I could get that speed here in thailand... seeing the current situation, we probably have to wait a few years, maybe a decade.. :D

Upload Speed: 1704 kbps (213 KB/sec transfer rate)

I'm on a 15000 kbps download, 1800 kbps upload, fiber optics line in Wash. DC area. The results are much better than the last, which was in the 2500 kbps download range. I get 15100 kbps download on the Wash DC Speakeasy test.

  • 2 weeks later...
Download Speed: 2082 kbps (260.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 410 kbps (51.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

True connection from Sukhumvit.... I'm still in shock. Must be something wrong here...

However... speedtests to other servers are not quite as favourable as that in Singapore. Still.. not bad compared to how it has been.

I just upgraded my Ji-Net (via TT&T) from 512/256 to 1024/512 and get the following from speedtest.thaivisa.com:

Download Speed: 809 kbps (101.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 391 kbps (48.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Not bad...close to what I'm paying for...
