webfact Posted March 2, 2015 Share Posted March 2, 2015 Big Cleaning Day organized in Phuket to commemorate National Media DayPHUKET, 2 Mar 2015 (NNT) - Members of the media in Phuket, students, employees from the private sector and municipality office gathered over the weekend to clean the public park in the Saphan Hin Shore area.Participants took up brooms and dusters to collect garbage, rendering the area virtually spotless.Phuket Media Association, the organizer, said the event marked the National Media Day 2015 on March 5th during which the agency customarily organizes an event to give something back to the community.The Phuket Media Association was established more than 20 years ago. It currently has about a hundred members consisting of journalists, writers, reporters and alike from all media outlet in the province.The association said that other activities are being planned to celebrate its 24th anniversary aside from this Big Cleaning Day, such as an event to promote health, and a function for the members to mingle and exchange their working experiences on March 5th.-- NNT 2015-03-02 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Or, better still, put some bins out and after a few fines for not using them, watch how clean it gets. IN all seriousness, thanks media helpers and whoever dreamed this up. There a very few cities in this country which tak the trouble to clean the streets and the general attitude everywhere is 'I don't wnat it so throw it over the wall or onto the nearest vacant lot'.
